Christine McGowan Ashby was an Australian who found fandom in 1969. She was a member of the Monash University Science Fiction Association, was a member of ANZAPA, won DUFF in 1976 (as Christine McGowan) , was on the Melbourne in '85 committee and treasurer of Aussiecon 1 and Aussiecon 2, and organized Smoffcon 1. She was married to fellow fan Derrick Ashby and lived in South Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. With him she chaired Eastercon '79.
