When the "rebranded" LepreCon 44 was announced, there was dismay in Phoenix and fans organized Cokocon in 2018, sponsored by CASFS and WesternSFA, as a new regional convention. The convention's name is a combination of Coppercon (which was sponsored by CASFS) and ConKopelli (which was sponsored by WesternSFA).
