The DSF was a club in Denver, CO which formed in the spring of 1940. Members included Olon Wiggins, Chuck Hansen, Lew Martin, and Roy Hunt. Wiggins was suspected of having created the others as a hoax, since he was the only fan from Denver anyone outside of Denver had heard of.
The DSF dissolved after a half-dozen meetings and the Colorado Fantasy Society was created in the fall of 1940 to put on the Denvention, the 1941 Worldcon, which Wiggins had just won the right to put on at Chicon I.

This is a club page. Please extend it by adding information about when and where the club met, when and by whom it was founded, how long it was active, notable accomplishments, well-known members, clubzines, any conventions it ran, external links to the club's website, other club pages, etc.
When there's a floreat (Fl.), this indicates the time or times for which we have found evidence that the club existed. This is probably not going to represent the club's full lifetime, so please update it if you can! |
