Roy Vernon Hunt, a Denver-area fan and artist, discovered sf in 1929 with Edgar Rice Burroughs. He was a fan artist and part of the Denver Triumvirate who published The Alchemist, a 1940s fanzine. He was a member of the Colorado Fantasy Society in the 1940s.

His artwork appeared in many fanzines and on dust jackets of SF books in the 1940s-1950s, including Out of the Unknown by A. E. van Vogt and E. Mayne Hull (1948).

He was a curator and artist at the Colorado State Historical Museum.
