An American playwright and author of short sf, Martha Soukup was active in Chicago fandom in the 1970s and ’80s, when she attended Thursday and was part of Moebius Theatre.

She attended Clarion in 1985. The 1994 short film Override, directed by Danny Glover, was based on her Hugo-nominated short story "Over the Long Haul." She now lives in San Francisco.
