Michael Straczynski and informally as Joe Straczynski or jms, is an American writer and producer who works in films, television series, novels, short stories, comic books, radio dramas, and other media. He is frequently Special Guest for LASFS's relaxacon, La-La Con.

He is known in SF circles for creating the SF television series Babylon 5 (1994–99) and its spin-off Crusade. From 2001 to 2007, he was the writer for the long-running Marvel comic book series The Amazing Spider-Man. He also wrote for Thor, Superman, and Wonder Woman.
