A Kansas City fan, Marguerite “Rita” Coriell (née Hooper) and her then husband, Vern, were founders of the Burroughs Bibliophiles. She edited the Burroughs Bulletin in the 1960s.
She was a founder of KaCSFFS. She also belonged to the N3F and the Hyborian Legion.
She was a member of First Fandom, and began reading Weird Tales in the 1920s; an avid collector, she had a complete run of the magazine.
