Philcon 1982.1 was held January 14–16, 1983, at the Franklin Plaza Hotel in Philadelphia, PA. The Principal Speaker was C. J. Cherryh and the Guest Artist was Carl Lundgren.

The year when Philcon 1982.1 took place was in fact 1983: this is not a mistake. Following the tradition created in 1977, Philcon was given the year designation of the prior year with the ".1" added to indicate that it took place the following January. There was no Philcon during 1982; a Philcon 1983 took place later in the year.
