Whatcon I was held June 8-10, 1979 at the Urbana Holiday Inn in Champaign-Urbana, IL. The GoHs were Bob Passovoy and Ann Passovoy, and possibly Larry Niven.
It was chaired by Jerry Corrigan. The convention was run by members of ChUSFA, but it's unclear if the convention was officially sponsored by the club.
