Chuck Hansen was a Denver fan who discovered fandom through Amazing Stories in the early 1930s. He was a member of FAPA for which he published Damballa.
With Roy Hunt and Olon Wiggins, he started the fanzine The Alchemist to promote Denver's bid to hold the 1941 Worldcon. He did not attend, however, having moved to Washington State with his family. He was a founding member of the N3F and the Colorado Fantasy Society and remained a member of the latter until his death.
He was a member of the SCA (under the name Lord Charles Bradford"), and also a Sherlockian and president of the Denver Scion Society, "Dr. Watson's Neglected Patients." He returned to Denver in 1942 and worked for the USDA, retiring there about 1980.
