Charles Ford Hansen
(1915 -- July 21, 1984)
Chuck Hansen was a Denver fan who discovered fandom through Amazing Stories in the early 30s. He was a member of FAPA for which he published Damballa, a member of the SCA (under the name Lord Charles Bradford"), and also a Sherlockian and president of the Denver Scion Society, "Dr. Watson's Neglected Patients".
With Roy Hunt and Olon Wiggins, he started the fanzine The Alchemist to promote Denver's bid to hold the 1941 Worldcon. He did not attend, however, having moved to Washington State with his family. He was a founding member of the Colorado Fantasy Society and remained a member until his death.
He returned to Denver in 1942 and worked for the USDA, retiring there about 1980.
He was the subject of a Founding Member article in July 2018 issue National Fantasy Fan.
