Mexicon 2 was held February 7-9 1986 at the Royal Angus Hotel in Birmingham, UK. The chair was Linda Pickersgill.

The convention identified no explicit guest of honour but rather a number of 'featured speakers'. These include William Gibson, Jan Mark, Alan Moore and – in his first convention appearance – Iain Banks.

The programme book lists 274 members to January 15, 1986.
