Norwescon IX was a convention held March 20-23, 1986 at the Red Lion Inn in SeaTac, WA. The GoH was Anne McCaffrey, the Artist GoH was Kelly Freas, the Fan GoH was Greg Bennett, and James Oberg was Science GoH.

It was chaired by Robert Suryam, the toastmaster was Spider Robinson and attendance was very high, with estimates around 3000.
