Graham is a NZ fan who relocated to New York in 1986 on a Fulbright Scholarship to pursue a PhD in Physics. This led to an associate editor role at Scientific American and later at Physics Today. Graham was only the second NZ fan to be awarded a Fulbright Scholarship, the other being Noel Jenkin in 1953. Currently Graham resides in Indiana.
While in New Zealand he was an active member of several clubs including the Auckland University SF Society AUSFS and Christchurch Branch of NASF. He has published professional SF stories and held roles within SFWA. He published fanzines in Aotearapa for many years and contributed many stories and other material to Aeons for (AUSFS).
