Sands of Time was a fanzine published by Ted Carnell in the UK and included as a rider with Futurian War Digest. In its first issue, Carnell said it was:
... the first fanzine to be published by a fan on Active Service.
He referred to it as S&S or SAS as it would dealing mainly with the doings of Astounding and Unknown, both published by Street and Smith. It was in some senses conceived as a continuation or successor to Donald J. Doughty's Tin Tacks. Carnell wrote in the first issue of Sands...:
However, due consideration for Don and the fact that TT was run on his ideas, caused us to slightly revise the policy. Herewith then [Sands of Time] which will take the place of TT as a fanzine dealing mainly with the doings of Astounding and Unknown.
