Westerchron (Westercon 36) was held July 1-4, 1983 at the Red Lion Inn in San Jose, CA. GoH: Phil Klass (William Tenn); Artist GoH: Alicia Austin; FGoH: Tom Whitmore.
It was chaired by Lee Forgue, and attendance was about 1700. It was reported (File 770 42, p. 16) that this was a fairly typical chaotic Bay Area Westercon, with an exceptionally weak Art Show. It had been bid by Mike Siladi as San Francisco in '83.
