Alan Miller was a fan from Leeds active in the 1930s. He attended the 1937 Leeds Convention.
Miller joined the Science Fiction Association (SFA) although it's not clear when as his arrival wasn't mentioned in Novae Terrae in line with the usual practice. It's possible, especially given his presence at the 1937 convention, that he was a founder member. He was certainly noted as one of the people representing the Leeds branch at the inaugural meeting of the Manchester branch on May 22, 1938 (Novae Terrae 23) and in July 1938 he was elected librarian at which point the branch held 800 science-fiction, fan, and science magazines.
In the 1945 Directory of Anglo-Fandom he was recorded as "not in touch at the moment". In a 1988 letter to Rob Hansen[1], Herbert Warnes said:
A. Miller was one of our stalwarts being with us from start to finish. We [Warnes and George Airey] would dearly like to meet him again, but alas no contact.
