Hugh Daniel was a Bay Area fan who discovered fandom as a teenager via the Stilyagi Air Corps in grew up in Ann Arbor. He moved to California along with Roger Gregory and other fans who worked on the Xanadu Project, an unsuccessful effort to create what might have been the World Wide Web.
Hugh ran the "Mr Destructo" panel at conventions at which he tore apart things like TVs and computers.
