The Technology (or Technological -- sources differ) Amateur Press Association was founded in 1966 by [[Mike Ward]] as an attempt to encourage [[fannishness]] in [[sercon]] [[MITSFS]] ("We're not fans -- we just read the stuff!").  In this it was a failure, but it did introduce [[fans]] such as [[Tony Lewis]], [[Ed Meyer]] and [[Suford Lewis]] to [[fandom]].  It lasted 10 mailings.
