John R. Douglas was a fan and professional sf editor. He was an early member of OSFiC. He was on the board of the World Fantasy Convention. He edited Science Fiction Chronicle for a few years after Andy Porter.

He worked for Avon and Harper Prism, among other publishing companies.

Douglas was born in Canada, and educated at the University of Toronto Innis College, but lived in New York for many years and was married to fellow fan and editor Ginjer Buchanan for 48 years.

He died of pneumonia, a complication of a urinary tract infection.
