Sir Pelham Grenville Wodehouse, an English-born American author and playwright, is best known for his mainstream humorous novels about Bertie Wooster and his valet Jeeves; however, he did employ some sf/fantasy elements in other books, while the Jeeves books, arguably, might be considered alternate history.
All his works are popular among fans. At Philcon, the 1947 Worldcon, Erle Korshak's talk on collecting rare fantasy mentioned The Swoop, or how Clarence Saved England by Wodehouse.
