John L. Gergen was a Minneapolis fan in the 1930s and ’40s. He published the fanzine Tycho, and was a member of the Minneapolis Fantasy Society. In the late ’40s, he collaborated with Poul Anderson on the short story "The Entity" which was Anderson's fifth published story and Gergern's only.
