By British: A Fanthology of the Seventies was an unofficial fanthology of 1970s British fanwriting created for Seacon '79 and edited by Ian Maule and Joseph Nicholas. A4 format; 90pp including card covers. It placed in the Checkpoint Fan Poll for 1979/80.

Besides Ian Maule (introduction) and Joseph Nicholas (afterword essay on British fanzines in the 1970s), the contributors are John Brosnan, Graham Charnock, Rob Hansen, Robert Holdstock, Roy Kettle, Dave Langford, John Piggott, Chris Priest, Bob Shaw, Kevin Smith and Andrew M. Stephenson. Cover artwork by Harry Bell; interior illustrations by Jim Barker and Rob Hansen.
