Walter R. Cole was a New York fan active beginning in the 1940s. He belonged to the ISFCC and wrote for its clubzine, The Explorer. He attended Hydracon in 1950.
Cole headed the Centaurian League in 1948 and was a long-time member of the Lunarians, serving as secretary for 20 years beginning in the 1950s. He authored the Checklist of Science Fiction Anthologies (1964). He was an associate member of the First Fandom club.
He was FGoH at the 1994 Lunacon.
