The Fly in the Ointment, subtitled The Snag in Michael's Mailing, was a one-shot four-page fanzine published by R. G. Medhurst in the UK in 1941 and included as a rider with Futurian War Digest. Medhurst was nicknamed 'Snaghurst' and 'Michael' was J. Michael Rosenblum, the editor of FWD. Medhurst proclaimed it:
