Roby Wentz

Roby Wentz (born John Roby Wentz) was a writer who published short sf and fantasy in the 1940s, and ran a publishing company. He was better known for nonfiction and historical fiction.

Wentz was born in Sacramento, California. A graduate of Stanford, he moved to the Los Angeles area in the mid-1930s, and began attending political meetings at Robert Heinlein’s, where he met Elma Langhorne Miller, whom he married in 1937. Elma and Roby divorced in the 1940s. Wentz served in the military as a war correspondent during WWII. He married Beatrice Davidson in 1949.
