OryCon 42 was a convention held November 13–15, 2021, at the Red Lion Hotel – Jantzen Beach in Portland, OR. It was originally scheduled for November 12–14, 2020, but was postponed due to Covid-19, and a virtual convention, OR-eCon, held instead. The GoHs were A. Lee Martinez, Betty Bigelow and Jeff and Maya Bohnhoff.
Previously, they had also announced Phil Foglio, Kaja Foglio (artists), and Toni Weisskopf (editor), but they were later delisted.
On November 3, 2021, they announced that after Orycon 42, the convention would go on hiatus for "a year or so" but that "it is unclear when OryCon will return". However, Or-E-Con 2 in 2022 and OryCon 43 in 2023 followed.
