NASFiC 12, NorthAmeriCon '17, was a carpetbagger convention held July 6–9, 2017, at the Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel and Casino, San Juan, Puerto Rico. Since 1975, the World Science Fiction Society has held a North American Science Fiction Convention in years when Worldcon is outside North America; in this case, Worldcon 75 in Helsinki, Finland. This was the first NASFiC held outside the continental U.S.
Guests of Honor: Daína Chaviano, Tobias S. Buckell, Guy Consolmagno, screenwriter Javier Grillo-Marxuach, comics artist George Perez, Paula Smith.
Attendance was smaller than expected, with an estimated 200 onsite attendees out of around 575 members.
