Mike Tealby

(January 1926 – 1978)

Michael Tealby was a UK fan from Loughborough who published the fanzine Wonder in the late 1940s and early 1950s. He was a member of the Science Fantasy Society (SFS) and the N3F.

In The Committeeman #1 (1950) he self-described:

Former office clerk, unemployed at present due to illness. 24, read stf 10 yrs, Mem. SFS and Postal Library (librarian). Pub. fanzine Wonder at one time. Amateur publisher, writer. Collects books, mags. Corresponds.

The first issue of Science Fantasy News dated January 1949 reported that Tealby would be operating a 'new postal fantasy library' in conjunction with Operation Fantast. He continued in that role until 1952 when he handed over to Fred Fairless.

Tealby married in 1954 and moved to the Isle of Man. He is listed in Ron Bennett's Directory of Science Fiction Fandom up to 1956 but not thereafter.
