(???? – )

K. E. Smith was a pro writer from Liverpool, UK active in the 1950s and 1960s. He published three short stories in Authentic Science Fiction (1954), Science Fantasy (1957) and the Swedish magazine Häpna!(1963). He was a member of the Supermancon although it's not known if he attended.

It's possible that he is the person referred to as K. Smith and Ken Smith in Ron Bennett's Directory of Science Fiction Fandom for 1955 and 1956 respectively. In the latter an annotation indicates that he is an active fan and part-time pro. He was a member of the Nor'west Science Fantasy Club. He's probably the Ken Smith who attended Cytricon IV.

There are references to a Ken Smith in Newcastle[1] in 1951. The assumption is that this isn't the same person. It's a common enough name. However, it's not out of the question that he moved.
