Burroughsiana
Burroughsiana was the clubzine of the British ERB Society.
Michael Moorcock had earlier published a fanzine with the subtly different title of Burroughsania. After 18 issues he handed the title to Dick Ellingsworth who seemingly published a 19th issue albeit under the title Burroughsiana. It received little distribution due to production problems. Ellingsworth may also have published the first and only issue of a new series of Burroughsiana in 1963.
The inaugural meeting of British ERB Society took place at the Three Pigeons public house in Ealing on May 25, 1974 and Ellingsworth was appointed editor. A newsletter in late 1974 set out plans for a quarterly journal to be called Burroughsiana. Issue one appeared in Spring 1975.
However there was then a schism between the Society and Ellingsworth who said the title had been passed to him by Moorcock and the Society could no longer have permission to use it. He said further that it was his intention to continue to publish Burroughsiana as an independent magazine not related to the Society. A second issue had been prepared and some copies were seemingly distributed around summer 1976 but it was later retitled The Fantastic Worlds of Edgar Rice Burroughs.
