San Francisco in '53 (aka Leprecon in 1953) was a losing bid to host the Worldcon in San Francisco in 1953 which was centered in Berkeley's The Elves, Gnomes, and Little Men's Science Fiction, Chowder, and Marching Society. Had it won, its Worldcon would have been named "Leprecon". It failed, losing to Philcon II. See 1953 Worldcon Site Selection.

Harry Warner reports in A Wealth of Fable, that the bid spent $800 on their bid -- an unheard-of amount. It was widely expected that San Francisco ought to win (the previous Worldcons had been Philcon, Torcon I, Cinvention, NorWesCon, and Nolacon I with none in California) and its loss provided impetus to creating a rotation plan.

There was an unnumbered issue of Rhodomagnetic Digest which it issued as a bidzine.
