An avoidance used instead of the name of a man in authority, such as the president of a club, a faned or the male head of a household, sometimes on the principle of He Who Must Not Be Named.
Herself is a similar substitute.
They are not unique to fandom. Ruth Sawyer wrote Herself, Himself and Myself in 1916.
