Stanley C. Skirvin was an early member of the Cincinnati Fantasy Group of Ohio (CFG) and one of the founders of Midwestcon. He claimed responsibility for persuading the club to name themselves the Cincinnati Fantasy Group. He edited the program book for the Cinvention, the 1949 Worldcon and the Cinvention Memory Book afterward.
He also attended the Philcon in 1953, and organized a “Car Pool to Portland” for NorWesCon in 1950. He was a member of the N3F and LASFS.
