New Zealand has had a New Zealand Natcon since 1979. The FFANZ fan fund aims to send fans to and from Australia; and GUFF and DUFF, from Australasia to Europe and the US . It received a big tourist boost in the 2000s from fans of the Lord of the Rings films shot there.
New Zealand in 2020 is bidding to bring the 2020 Worldcon to Wellington.
