Margaret Skiffington attended the First Worldcon in 1939. She may have been related to early fan Joe Skiffington.
New York records indicate that Margaret Skiffington and Joseph Sykora (the younger brother of Will Sykora) took out a marriage license on April 3, 1940 but it is unclear whether they married. Census records show that a Joseph Skiffington in New York had a younger sister named Mary. It has been impossible to confirm birth or death dates for Margaret.
(Had the term skiffy come into use by then, we might suspect her of being a pseudonym or a hoax, but it hadn’t.)
