Annually at Worldcon during the Hugo Awards ceremony, it is traditional to project a scrolling list of the members of the sf community who’ve died in the past year. The compiler (Steven Silver since 2012) tends to take an expansive view of the community, so it is usually a very long list.

In days when fandom was smaller and the ceremonies shorter and less complex, the toastmaster would read the names aloud.
