FenCon V was a convention held from October 3-5, 2008 at the Crowne Plaza North Dallas in Addison, TX. The Guests of Honor were Gregory Benford, Three Weird Sisters (Mary Crowell, Teresa Powell, and Brenda Sutton) (music), Gerald Burton (fan), and Real Musgrave. It was chaired by Russ Miller, attendance was 591, and the toastmaster was Howard Waldrop. There was an ORAC special guest, Doris Egan, and a second special guest, Jay Lake.
Waldrop was unable to attend due to health concerns, but attended FenCon VI.
