Eclare Hannifen (pronounced “ē-clar-ē,” formerly Hilda Hannifen and Hilda Clare Hoffman), a California fan, gamer and artist, is a member of LASFS who has been active in fandom since the early 1960s. She was a member of Alarums & Excursions and Apa-L.

Hilda married Owen Hannifen in March 1968. They lived in the BArea. The two were early players of D&D and introduced the game to many West Coast fen, including lengthy articles she wrote in her apazines. They also belonged to SCA.
