Chris "Minstrel" Malme has been a British fan and filker since 1988 and is a song writer and performer. In the early 90s, he was one of the publishers of the only British filk fanzine, Filklore. From 1991 to 1997 he ran Minstrel's Hall of Filk a BBS and internet feed for filkers.

In 1999 he started an annual award, the Filklore Award for best lyrics posted on FILK_UK. He was on the committee for Vibraphone. He co-founded the record label Filklore Music Productions/Partner in Rhyme to produce the Vibraphone convention tapes. He also ran an online filk store, Filklore Music Store.
