Bruce Schneier
(January 15, 1963 –)
Bruce Schneier is a fan living in Boston. He published the fanzine Ramblings.
He was married for many years to fellow fan Karen Cooper and lived in Minneapolis; they divorced in 2022. Schneier and Cooper were nominated in 2000 for the Hugo Award, in the category of Best Related Book, for their Minicon 34 Restaurant Guide, a work originally published for the Minneapolis SF convention Minicon 34.
Before moving to Minneapolis, where he belonged to Minn-stf, Schneier lived in Chicago, where he was active in local fandom. He is a member of General Technics.
Schneier is a native of Brooklyn. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Rochester and a master’s from American University in Washington, D.C. He is professionally a very well-known cryptographer, computer security professional, privacy specialist, and writer on related subjects.
