Bantam Books is an American publisher currently owned by the German corporation Bertelsmann. It was formed in 1945 by Walter B. Pitkin, Jr., Sidney B. Kramer, and Ian and Betty Ballantine.
Since the early 50s, it has been a major publisher of SF under the Bantam Books and Bantam Spectra names.
Current editors are Anne Groell and Juliet Ulman. Previous editors include Betsy Mitchell.
