Isabel E. Burbee was a Los Angeles fan. In Trap Door 23 (December 2004), Robert Lichtman wrote:
Although I don’t recall if Isabel ever wrote anything for publication, she was an important and beloved presence in Los Angeles fandom for many years, extending her excellent hospitality and amazing food to everyone who showed up at her and Charlie’s house to commit fanac or just to party.
She was married to BNF Charles Burbee. They had three children, John, Linda and Ed. Born in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Isabel moved to California as a young woman. In mid-life, she went back to school and became a licensed vocational nurse, working in that field for over a decade.
