Dave Britton was a fan, author, artist, publisher, bookseller and conrunner from Manchester, UK active from the 1960s. With Michael Butterworth, he was co-founder of Savoy Books. He also edited a single late (#215) issue of New Worlds in 1979 and with John Muir the single-issue fanzine Weird Fantasy
Professionally, he is likely best known for his first novel, Lord Horror (1989), and for what the SFE describes as Savoy's 'anti-establishment ethos ... that brought both Britton and Butterworth into conflict with the UK obscenity laws'.
He was on the committee of Thirdmancon in 1968 and of Chessmancon in 1972, at the latter running the art show.
