(???? – )

Ray E. Pate was a fan from Thebarton near Adelaide in South Australia active in the 1950s. He was a member of the Nor'west Science Fantasy Club in Manchester, UK, joining in October 1952. Space Times #5 (October 1952) gives his home town as 'The Barton' but then it wasn't as easy to simply look these things up in the 1950s.

Pate had a letter published in Authentic Science Fiction #25 (September 1952):

I have now read two of your publications, 16 and 17, and must say that I enjoyed them very much. Science fiction books are few and far between out here. Up till now I have had to rely on old American pre-war issues that I managed to dig up. I would like to wish you and your publication all the best and hope that we can see more of them.
