Filker and scientist Mitchell Burnside-Clapp found filk in 1975.
He received Bachelor of Science degrees in Physics, Aeronautics and Astronautics, and Russian, and a Master of Science in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is married to fellow filker T. J. Burnside-Clapp.
