Joy Barlow was a fan likely from Birmingham, UK active in the 1950s. She was a member of the Birmingham Science Fiction Circle. Ethel Lindsay described meeting her in Scottishe #1 (December 1954), saying 'she doesn't get the same insults from the male fen I have to contend with, wonder if I should start wearing slacks too?'
