Ron Fishwick
(???? –)
Ronald 'Ron' Fishwick was a UK fan from Ellesmere Port active in the 1930s and 1940s. He was a member of the Science Fiction Association (SFA) and the Science Fiction League (SFL).
Fishwick joined the SFA around July 1937. Thrilling Wonder Stories (August 1937) reported him as among 'new members foreign' of the Science Fiction League. Futurian War Digest detailed his military adventures during the Second World War. He was a dispatch rider in the engineers who had been in France in 1940 and at Dunkirk but #11 (August 1941) reported him as being posted 'out East' with #19 (April 1942) seeing him in Cyprus and #27 (April 1943) in the Middle East Expeditionary Force:
He says that his letter will be somewhat of a shock perhaps, but he felt he had to drop a line for old times sake and SF. He enjoys the Fidos that reach him and has seen one or two stf magazines, but having been in the desert most of the time, has had little opportunity for reading.
Futurian War Digest #39 (March 1945) saw him in Europe again. He is listed in the 1945 Directory of Anglo-Fandom but isn't fannishly evident after the War.
