(???? – )

Joan Lane was a UK fan from Manchester active in the 1940s. She attended the Norcon, making her the first female fan to attend a UK convention although it's a slight edge case as in describing the convention in Futurian War Digest #33 (February 1944) she said 'I am on the verge of becoming a fan' so arguably she wasn't a fan at that point. She had, however, joined the British Fantasy Society by March and J. Michael Rosenblum said in FWD #34, 'This issue is being duplicated and distributed by Ronald Lane of Manchester, with the aid of such mu - er - kindhearted people as can assemble, presumably sister Joan and George Ellis.'

She is listed in the Directory of Anglo-Fandom of 1945 but not in later directories.
