Mancon
Revision as of 03:46, 21 October 2024 by Mark Plummer (talk | contribs) (No GOH at Mancon; also revised attendance figure)
Mancon was (a part of) the name of a (very loose) series of conventions held in Manchester, UK between 1952 and 1976. Except the first, all other four were Eastercons.
The original Mancon, run by the Nor'west Science Fantasy Club, is sometimes retroactively numbered "Mancon", but no numeral was used at the time, as it was simply the first one-off there. Supermancon was launched as an Eastercon bid for the immediately following 1953, but had been "heavily defeated" by the London Coroncon at the London Eastercon 1952, even before the trial Mancon could take place.
